Your VAT identification number

Any business where a product or service is being sold is usually subject to Value Added Tax. We are operating our business from The Netherlands and for the convenience of international business, The Netherlands has Tax treaties with foreign countries. This means that for you, as a company, the tax is reverse charged (as stated on the invoice), meaning that we don’t charge tax on our invoice but you do your tax returns locally. We, of course, have to report with whom we are doing business with and for that reason we are obliged to ask for your VAT identification number, which we then add to the invoice. If you are unable to supply this or don’t have a VAT identification number, additional mandatory VAT might be added to the invoice depending on your resident country.

To check the local naming of your VAT number, please check this website as it will explain what it is called and how it is constructed (what it looks like): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VAT_identification_number.
